Are there trails to hike? Is that a loaded questions. Damascus is the crossroads for two trails for hiking. The Appalachian Trail and The Virginia Creeper Trail. Not only can you hike the Creeper Trail, but almost anywhere you turn there is a place to hike. There are really too many to list on this page. I will try to add the most popular ones and add others as I can. Please email me if you want to hike a particular area and I will be happy to suggest some trails.

Recently I was able to hike the Appaclachian Trail as it runs through Grayson Highlands State Park. It was a great day to hike up to Rhododendron Gap. The purple blooms were fantastic. Even the wild ponies were out grazing nearby.

Let's do not forget the many trails in Tennesse and North Carolina. There is great hiking from the Blue Ridge Parkway and Grandfather Mountain.
